Help for Streaming Video Viewing

There are three methods available for viewing the video signals from the Yale Pathology department:

For multi-source viewing (video source selection), all browsers on all platforms use the manual update mode. This is to prevent excessive use of bandwidth.

For single-source viewing, the default mode used depends upon your browser. Netscape users on any platform will default to "Direct real time video streaming." Microsoft Internet Explorer requires an ActiveX control for stable viewing. If you are viewing from a Windows platform using Internet Explorer, you must have "ActiveX controls" turned on, and must allow the needed control to be downloaded (this only needs to be done once) the first time you access the video servers. For all other browsers, and for Internet Explorer on non-Windows platforms, the "manual update of still images" mode is used.
