Goals:
- To help you understand the relationship of acute and chronic inflammation, repair and fibrosis in the bodies response to injury.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand the timing and histology of the several phases of inflammation, repair and fibrosis
- To understand the difference between acute and chronic inflammation
- To see that fibrosis (scar) can be the ultimate outcome for acute or chronic inflammatory responses
- To understand pathogenesis of chronic granulomatous inflammation (caseous and non-caseous).
- To understand the difference between necrosis and autolysis, particularly as they related to pre- and post-mortem events.
